The Junta allocates more than €450,000 to Casares, nearly €140,000 to Tesorillo and just €23,000 to Manilva

-

The Junta de Andalucía continues to discriminate against the municipality of Manilva in the distribution of funding for repairs to rural tracks damaged by the recent storms, exposing a sharp imbalance between municipalities in the Manilva area and placing the town among the worst-funded in the area.

According to figures published in the BOJA (the Andalusian official gazette) on 8 April, Casares will receive a total of €453,579.85, spread across six projects covering different rural tracks in the municipality, which will allow broad, structural work on its agricultural road network.

For its part, San Martín del Tesorillo will receive an investment of close to €140,000, distributed across multiple projects including the Camino Montenegral Alta, the Cañada de Servidumbre, the Camino de Jimena and the Camino de la Morisca, among others. In total, at least six different projects are planned, which will help strengthen the overall improvement of its rural infrastructure.

In contrast, Manilva will receive barely €23,406.24, earmarked exclusively for a single project on the track from Estepona to San Roque.

The difference is particularly significant when the three municipalities are compared: Casares receives almost 20 times the investment allocated to Manilva, San Martín del Tesorillo receives approximately 6 times more and Manilva is limited to a single project, compared with the multiple projects in the neighbouring municipalities.

Once again, Manilva has clearly been put at a disadvantage in the regional plan, despite also having suffered the effects of the storms, which the municipality itself has had to deal with, as announced after the storm in February, with repairs to the Martagina track and the Camino de Las Lomas, among others.
