After several years of campaigning by residents and criticism from tourists who came to spend their holidays in one of the few hotel areas our town has to offer, the entrance to El Goleto will have its street lighting restored.
A modern, attractive area with a first-rate public park, luxury homes in which investors have placed part of their savings, and a hotel that had been receiving complaints from its guests about the lack of lighting on the only access road to its facilities.
According to the council’s announcement, the working group set up to improve, as far as possible, the quality of life of residents in the housing developments is beginning to bear fruit. This area will be lit shortly, following successful trials on one of the street lamps in the area so that they can operate independently using solar energy.
Other works that have begun in El Goleto park include the complete clearing of undergrowth and the start of construction of a public toilet for users of this attractive park.
