Tomorrow, Wednesday 9 August, the eagerly awaited Feria Grande of Manilva begins at the fairground on the carretera de los baños. The festivities will run until 13 August, with Wednesday standing out as children’s day, with rides at €1. In addition, on Monday 14, a local holiday in the municipality, the rides will remain in operation at a special price of €1.50.
The starting point of the celebration will be the switching on of the lights, a spectacle full of colour and life that will open the scheduled events. The opening speech of the fair will be given by the president of the Asociación Cultural ARTEatro 13, Jerónimo Mora.
The opening day will bring one of the most special moments of the main festivities: the crowning of the Queens, Ladies and Youth and Children’s Misters, as well as the crowning of the Queen and King of our municipality. It will be a day full of emotion and glamour that will set the tone for the days to come.
The programme is as follows:
Thursday 10 August at 00:30: «Cantores de Híspalis» will captivate the audience with their tour «Eternos Cantores».
Friday 11 August at 21:30: Children’s show «Los Gabytos», an official tribute to «Gaby, Fofó y Miliki – Los payasos de la tele».
Saturday 12 August from 20:00: a day full of action, with the parade of floats and street procession through the main streets of the Manilva town centre. Music from the charanga (brass band) and DJ «Pollo» will accompany the route. In addition, during the night, the well-known Spanish rock band «Seguridad Social» will take to the stage at 00:00. From 02:00, «Sótano Sur» will take over the stage to continue the party.
Sunday 13 August: on the last day of the festivities, the floats and street procession will parade from 19:30 through the main streets of El Castillo and San Luis de Sabinillas. The charanga and DJ «Pollo» will make sure the energy stays high.
At midnight, a firework display will light up the sky, weather permitting. In addition, at 00:30, the performance by «Rebujitos» will close this year’s Feria Grande.
The party will go on every night at the official marquee, with performances by various orchestras and bands that will get the crowd dancing. Young people will also have their own space in the youth marquee, with performances by DJs Turbo, Pájaro and Dani Cerdán.
Quiet hours: from 20:00 to 22:00, a noise-free period will be in place to make the fair accessible to everyone.
To make getting around easier, a bus service will operate from 22:00 until the fair closes, at around 06:00. The route will run from the Civima in Manilva to the last stop next to Carrefour Express in Sabinillas, passing through El Castillo and Puerto de la Duquesa.
