Work has begun to prepare calle Mar in Manilva for the upcoming Fiesta de la Vendimia (the Grape Harvest Festival).
A team of workers is currently installing the posts and the new awnings that will provide shade for the hundreds of residents and visitors who will gather in this spot to celebrate one of the most deeply rooted and traditional festivals in our town.
The Festivals department, headed by Daniel Muñoz, is in charge of organising this celebration, which has the support of other departments, so that everything is in perfect condition on 2, 3 and 4 September.
The mayor, Mario Jiménez, and the area director, Pilar Zúñiga, were overseeing the work being carried out on the main road of Manilva’s town centre, which will provide some 300 metres of shaded area along calle Mar.
Manilva grapes, which are already on sale in the municipality, will take centre stage at these festivities, which will round off the town’s summer festive season.
