Sabinillas Beach will have its Blue Flag

-

The Association for Environmental and Consumer Education (ADEAC) has announced this year’s Blue Flags, with Sabinillas beach and Puerto de la Duquesa among those awarded this distinction.

According to both the mayor, Mario Jiménez, and the Beaches councillor, Eva Galindo, our coastline is extraordinary and, thanks to the adaptation of the promenade to the Coastal Authority regulations, the quality of the water and sand, together with the facilities, are on a par with the best beaches in Spain. To this are added cleanliness and care for the environment.

Blue Flags are an award given by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) to beaches and marinas, and have been awarded for more than 30 years (since 1987). Following annual inspections and audits by ADEAC, they are granted to those municipalities that apply for them (as participation is voluntary) and meet a series of criteria grouped into four areas: Environmental Information and Education, Water Quality, Environmental Management, and Safety and Services.
