Today the work carried out on the Senda Litoral (coastal path) as it passes through one of the most valuable areas of our municipality, the Reserva Ecológica (Ecological Reserve), was signed off.
The mayor, Mario Jiménez, the councillor for the Environment department, Laura López, and the councillor for the Infrastructure and Works department, Diego José Jiménez, visited the area to check the final finish of this section of the path, accompanied by municipal technicians and the area director, Mari Ángeles Ramos.
The work focused on a 675-metre-long, 3-metre-wide section of this busy path, and consisted of replacing the surface with a completely ecological one made of aggregates compacted with a binder.
A rope-style railing of the same length has also been installed along the edge closest to the shoreline to protect this protected beach area.
The Diputación de Málaga took part in the project, and the initiative was driven by Manilva’s Environment and Infrastructure and Works departments. The work was carried out by the company VGC Global.
After walking this section, which runs from the Martagina stream to Paraíso beach, the municipal officials were very pleased with the final result of the work, which adds more charm to this area where users enjoy exercising or strolling in an attractive natural setting.
The time set for the work was six weeks and it was completed in four, finishing ahead of schedule, so all users can now walk the route in an unrivalled ecological setting.
