Proposal to Congress for the undergrounding of the A7

-

Manilva Town Hall has announced that it will submit to the Congress of Deputies an ambitious proposal to put the N-340 underground as it passes through Sabinillas and to create a boulevard in the area. This project, promoted by the Urban Planning and Infrastructure and Works departments, aims to improve connectivity and quality of life in the municipality, responding to a long-standing need of the town.

Mayor Jose Manuel Fernández, through his political party, will present this initiative to the central government. It includes extending the undergrounding of the A-7 as far as Puerto de la Duquesa and building a boulevard over it. This plan would not only ease traffic in the centre of Sabinillas, but would also connect the southern and northern areas of the municipality, a long-awaited improvement for residents.

The project was already presented in July during the working group for drafting the Regional Spatial Plan (POT) for the western Costa del Sol, where the need to push forward the coastal railway and to remove the toll on the AP-7 was also highlighted.

The creation of the boulevard and the undergrounding of the N-340 would not only improve the flow of traffic, but would also have a positive impact on the local economy, tourism and the quality of life of residents. This project represents a crucial step towards transforming Sabinillas into a more accessible, sustainable and attractive town.
