A new project for the forthcoming creation of the care home for the elderly was presented today.
The facilities will include 101 single and double rooms in the area known as Maicandil.

The mayor, Mario Jiménez; the first deputy mayor, Diego José Jiménez; the Social Welfare councillor, Paqui López; the Town Planning councillor, Marcos Ruiz; the designer of the preliminary project, Lola Muñoz; and the municipal architect, Susana Jurado, were responsible for giving the presentation in the council chamber.

The mayor said he was very enthusiastic about launching this project for 172 places, which will offer a full range of services including physiotherapy, a swimming pool, a dining room, a laundry and a rehabilitation room, among others, in what will be a self-sufficient building.

Built on municipal land, the building will be run by a private company through a tendering process. As the mayor explained, residents of Manilva will receive significant discounts on their fees.

For the Town Planning councillor, Marcos Ruiz, drawing up the project has been very satisfying. He also said that the tender will be issued from April, following its approval at a council meeting.

Diego José Jiménez, as first deputy mayor and Infrastructure and Works councillor, stressed that this new infrastructure will improve the quality of life of the people of Manilva by meeting the needs of our older residents.

In short, it was a historic day for our municipality, which will expand services for older people with the achievement of this major project, which is already under way.
