The countdown begins for Manilva’s main fair. The sports area of the fairground is already being transformed, following the removal of nets, baskets and goalposts, to make way for the lorries that are installing the lighting, marquees and the various attractions that will bring fun to all the people of Manilva and visitors.
On Wednesday 9 August the long-awaited festivities will begin with the switching on of the lights and the traditional opening speech of the fiestas, given by the president of the Asociación Arteatro 13, Jerónimo Mora.
During this special evening, we will witness one of the most emotional moments of the main festivities: the coronation of the queens and ladies of our municipality.
The fair will run until Sunday 13 August and, for the first day, councillor Rogelio Pascual announced that it will be children’s day. In addition, the youngest will also have their day on Monday 14 as a local holiday in the municipality, with the attractions open at a very affordable price.
Throughout these days, we will enjoy various shows and performances. On Thursday 10 August at 00:30 the group «Cantores de Híspalis» will perform as part of their «Eternos Cantores» tour. On Friday 11, the youngest will be able to have fun with the children’s show «Los Gabytos», an official tribute to «Gaby, Fofó y Miliki – Los payasos de la tele», from 21:30.
On Saturday 12 August, from 20:00, we will be able to enjoy the parade of floats and street procession through the main streets of the centre of Manilva, enlivened by the charanga (brass band) and DJ «Pollo». In addition, that night, at 00:00, the famous Spanish rock group «Seguridad Social» will get the audience going with their music.
On Sunday 13 August, the last day of the celebration, from 19:30, the floats and street procession will make their way through the main streets of El Castillo and San Luis de Sabinillas, with entertainment from the Charanga and DJ «Pollo». The night will culminate with a firework display at 00:00, weather permitting, and at 00:30 the performance by «Rebujitos» will close this year’s main fair on a high note.
Every night, the official marquee will host performances by orchestras and musical groups, while the youth marquee will feature sets by DJs Turbo, Pájaro and Dani Cerdán, ensuring the fun never stops.
