PP demands 'immediate' enforcement of disqualification of council employee

-

The Manilva Municipal Group of the Partido Popular has formally urged the mayor and the municipal secretary to immediately enforce the Supreme Court ruling imposing a penalty of disqualification from public employment or office on an employee linked to the local administration.

This request refers to Ruling no. 714/2025 of the Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court, the same ruling that the previous day reduced the disqualification penalty for former mayor Antonia Muñoz and which, at the same time, upheld the 21-month disqualification sentence for the legal adviser A.M.C. for an offence of administrative misconduct (prevaricación) in the hiring of staff. According to earlier reports, this legal adviser continues to provide significant services at the Urban Planning Management Office (GEUMA) of the Town Hall.

The Partido Popular stresses the obligation to comply with final rulings, as established by the Constitution and the Organic Law of the Judiciary, and demands that «The Town Hall must act with responsibility and transparency, guaranteeing the correct application of the law.»

In its request, the Manilva PP has also asked to be informed of the exact date on which the convicted employee’s disqualification begins, as well as the specific measures adopted to enforce it, ensuring «maximum clarity and administrative rigour» in the process.

The municipal group concluded its statement by defending legality, transparency and good municipal management, principles which it considers essential for a public administration that must be at the service of residents.
