Pasaje del Arriero will link La Pedreta with calle Jimena

-

The road linking calle Jimena and calle Pedreta will be named “Pasaje del Arriero”, in memory of this bygone trade.

The mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez, and the councillors for Infrastructure and Works, Diego José Jiménez, and Marcos Ruiz, as Town Planning councillor, have regularly supervised the progress of this project.

This work, one of the most important in the centre of Manilva, will improve mobility and functionality in this busy area, as well as making it a picturesque spot.
This link will improve pedestrian access to the area for residents, as it will have a staircase and a lift for people with disabilities, as well as a viewpoint with extraordinary views of Sierra Bermeja, our vineyards and the coastline. In addition, there will be ornamental sculptures representing the figure of the arriero (muleteer) and new parking areas.

The finished design of this site can already be viewed virtually.
This important project will become a reality thanks to the good coordination between the Diputación de Málaga and the Town Hall, as it has been included in the Economic Reactivation Plan for municipalities with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants.

The work involves an investment of 150,000 euros from the Diputación and around 33,000 euros for the project itself, contributed by the Town Hall.
