No to the underground car park in Plaza de los Escritores

-

The underground car park in Plaza de los Escritores will be the first election and manifesto promise that the current governing team will not fulfil.

The town’s current mayor, Jose Manuel Fernández, was categorical in statements to RTV Manilva, in which he admitted that «paper and election manifestos can bear anything», referring to the Partido Popular’s election manifesto, which promised an underground car park in this area with 108 spaces, as did its coalition partner «Izquierda Unida», which proposed the same project but with a capacity for 125 vehicles.

According to Fernández, the technicians advise against it because there are archaeological remains beneath this area that could complicate construction.

For this reason, the whole square is being restructured and resurfaced, which, according to the Town Hall, could give residents one more parking space than before, and even include an area for the bins, which will be in operation shortly.
