Work to mark out the different areas of the new leisure and sports complex at the Manilva fairground is progressing well.
As reported this morning by the mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez, and the councillors for sports, Manolo Gil, town planning, Marcos Ruiz, and commerce, Francisco Becerra, who visited the site accompanied by municipal technicians and representatives of the company carrying out the project, the infrastructure that will support the equipment for each sport, such as basketball hoops and goalposts, has already been completed. In addition, the markings for the different areas of the sports courts are currently being painted.
The area will be surrounded by a large athletics track. There will also be a skating area, a cycling area, and basketball, five-a-side football, handball, volleyball and tennis courts. The complex will also have a bouldering area, a horizontal climbing wall, for those who wish to take up or continue to improve at this sport.
All of these spaces have been specially designed to be compatible with the August fair, as well as with the market and other events the site may host, as the sports equipment, which will be in place for 90% of the year, can be dismantled on specific occasions when required.
Finally, the installation of a kiosk that will be able to serve snacks and drinks to refresh people using the new facilities will be put out to tender.
