In a major boost to public safety, eight new Guardia Civil officers are joining the staff of the Sabinillas barracks. Their arrival is a significant reinforcement for the town, which has long called for a greater presence of the security forces.
The mayor of Manilva, José Manuel Fernández, accompanied by the first deputy mayor, Agustín Vargas, and the chief of the Local Police, Juan Montero, welcomed the new officers at a ceremony held early in the morning at the Casa Cuartel. The mayor highlighted the importance of this increase in the number of personnel to guarantee the peace of mind of residents and the public in general.
It should be remembered that this increase in staff is only the first step in a process that will culminate at the beginning of the year with the upgrading of the Manilva post to a main station. This reclassification will provide more resources and permanent personnel, thus consolidating the presence of the Guardia Civil in the town.
