Andalusia votes this Sunday, including the 9,048 residents of Manilva, in another trip to the polls to decide the make-up of the Andalusian Parliament. The doors of the various polling stations will open from 9:00 to 20:00, although the polling boards must be set up beforehand, by 8:00 in the morning.
The municipal registration (padrón) department announced that several polling points have been set up in the municipality, spread across the different population centres. Specifically, the polling stations will be located in the Pabellón de Usos Múltiples de Manilva, the Ciudad Deportiva de Sabinillas, the Centro de Formación and the Monumento del Castillo.
In addition, throughout election day, municipal staff will assist residents both at the Town Hall and at the Tenencia de Alcaldía de Sabinillas to resolve any issues relating to the electoral roll, errors in personal details or questions about exactly where to cast their vote.
According to figures provided by the municipal registration (padrón) department, a total of 9,048 Manilva voters will be able to take part in these regional elections. The Town Hall also reminds residents that, as these are Andalusian elections, foreign nationals living in the municipality will not be able to vote.
2022 turnout
The figures from the previous regional elections, held in 2022, show turnout in Manilva almost evenly split between those who went to vote and those who chose not to.
According to the official summary of the count from that year, a total of 4,131 residents exercised their right to vote, representing 49.79% of the electoral roll. By contrast, abstention reached 4,165 people, or 50.2%, slightly above the recorded turnout.
As for the other results of the count, there were 42 spoiled ballots, equivalent to 1.01%, while blank votes numbered 27, representing 0.66% of the total.
These figures point to a very tight balance between turnout and abstention in the municipality, so this Sunday’s election day will once again be closely watched to see whether mobilisation of Manilva voters increases compared with the last regional election.
