After spending a few days on the coast of Murcia recharging his batteries for the challenge of a lifetime, the Italian sailor Michele Cassano (Veneto, 1972) passed the beaches of Manilva this morning in his unusual rowing boat, bound for Lanzarote, from where he intends to set off to row across the Atlantic Ocean.
After that stop in the ports of Cabo de Palos and Cartagena, Cassano is preparing to begin his journey from Lanzarote to the island of Guadeloupe in the Caribbean, relying solely on himself and his small boat. His love of the sea began when he was a child, sailing on his family’s sailing boat in the Aegean Sea and the Mediterranean. Since then, his adventurous and restless spirit has given him extensive experience sailing the waters around the globe.
