In response to statements made this afternoon by Diego José Jiménez, PSOE candidate for mayor of Manilva, on the live programme broadcast by this newsroom, in which he said that the VOX candidate shies away from sitting down with other candidates, Antonio Marín has issued the following statement of clarification:
«Neither VOX as a political party nor I, as VOX candidate for mayor of Manilva, have «shied away» from maintaining contact with other candidates. We have only declined the invitation from other political forces to meet with the aim of reaching investiture or government agreements.
The reason why these meetings have not taken place so far is that, to date, the conversations have not progressed enough for us to consider joining a negotiating table.
On the other hand, to all those forces with which we have held telephone conversations, and in order to continue making progress in the right direction, we conveyed that it would be advisable for any type of proposal to be sent to us in writing for a better assessment, but at no point has this been set as a condition for continuing to seek common ground.»
The programme was broadcast live on the Manilva.ws social media channels in order to make known the possible agreements or pacts between the different political parties. Only Marcos Ruiz, representing Compromiso, and Diego José Jiménez, for the PSOE, agreed to take part:
