Manilva Town Hall gets tough with businesses

-

Today, a young man who was previously seen handing out the controversial Compromiso magazines has once again delivered a notice on behalf of Manilva Town Hall to various hospitality businesses in Sabinillas, according to information passed on to this newsroom.

The document, digitally signed on the side by the Cleaning department councillor Francisca López Rodríguez on 22 July, reminds businesses that all bins have an opening large enough for large rubbish bags to be put in, so it is compulsory, as long as the bins are not completely full, to place rubbish bags inside the respective bins through their designated opening, with no excuse or exception being admissible.

In its second point, it states that express instructions have been given to the workers who carry out this service to cooperate with law enforcement officers and to identify bags and boxes improperly left at the foot of the bins, opening them if necessary, in order to trace the owners or leaseholders of businesses, or private individuals, responsible for these infringements. It points out that, under article 34 of the Municipal Ordinance on Cleanliness, Public Appearance and Waste Management, this type of conduct is classed as SERIOUS INFRINGEMENTS, punishable with fines of 751€ to 1,500€, becoming very serious infringements in the event of repeat offences, with penalties ranging from 1,501€ to 3,000€.

Finally, it reminds residents that, for the good of all and in order to promote harmony among neighbours, as well as to improve safety, hygiene and appearance on our public streets, all citizens are asked to cooperate in complying with this requirement.

«To make our town an ever better place to live, we count on your cooperation», the document concludes.
