The Manilva Municipal Group of the Partido Popular has formally placed on record with the Town Hall Secretary’s Office possible irregularities in the file relating to the installation of fairground rides in Plaza de la Vendimia for the celebration of Andalusia Day, which to date continue to occupy the whole square.
According to the statement registered on 9 March 2026, the PP spokesperson, José Manuel Fernández Fernández, after reviewing file 516/2026 together with a municipal official, states that the documentation contains no municipal technical report on the safety of the rides installed, nor any reports issued by other Town Hall departments.
The same document, signed by the official assigned to the municipal Secretary’s Office, also records that there is no economic report on the use of the public highway, nor any documentation showing the existence of an agreement or resolution exempting the installation of these rides from municipal fees.
The PP considers this situation particularly striking, as there is a letter signed on 4 March 2026 by the Culture councillor, Eva Galindo Peralta, in reply to a request for access to the file submitted by the PP, which states that the file created on 25 February 2026 includes all the documentation necessary for the correct assembly of the rides.
In that letter, the Culture department states that the file contains, among other documents, electrical certificates, accreditation of the company responsible, public liability insurance and assembly certifications, and that all the documentation had been reviewed by technicians competent in works and electrical matters, in compliance with the applicable safety regulations.
Furthermore, the same document indicates that the Town Hall granted authorisation to occupy the public highway for the installation of the rides after examining that documentation.
In light of these two versions, which appear contradictory, the Partido Popular puts several questions to the municipal governing team: if the file states that the documentation was reviewed by municipal technicians, why does the file contain no municipal technical report to prove it and under what administrative procedure the installation of the rides was authorised.
The PP has announced that it will request explanations from the governing team and that it will study the necessary action to clarify the facts and establish any political or administrative responsibilities, as it considers this a matter related to the safety of facilities open to the public and the use of municipal public land.
The PP insists that municipal management must be guided by criteria of transparency, legality and administrative rigour, especially when it involves activities that entail installing infrastructure in public spaces and that may affect residents’ safety.
