Manilva PP presents its projects for Sabinillas and the area around La Duquesa and El Castillo

-

The party of former PP mayor Jose Manuel Fernandez has shown several videos about the underground car parks in Plaza Ginebra and the Corredor Verde (Green Corridor), two initiatives it says it has been working on for some time and which, it claims, would already be under way had the motion of no confidence not taken place halfway through the term of office.

The Partido Popular of Manilva held an information presentation in the Plaza de los Naranjos this Thursday, 8 October, to publicise several projects that the party says it has been working on for some time.

During the event, the PP screened various videos with recreations of two of the initiatives presented: the underground car park in Plaza Ginebra, in San Luis de Sabinillas, and the Corredor Verde between the Puerto de la Duquesa and El Castillo, a project whose authorship was called into question today. However, far from creating pointless controversies that lead nowhere, the party preferred to demonstrate with facts all the work it has already done.

The presentation, with an information tent and a TV, was held mainly in English, with Dean Tyler explaining the proposals to the foreign public in the square.

The PP highlights its earlier work on the projects

The party maintains that these initiatives are not new and that, had the motion of no confidence that brought about a change in the municipal government halfway through the term of office not taken place, the projects would already be under way.

The party has framed the initiative within a criticism of the council’s management over the last 17 months, a period it describes as one of neglect and paralysis, and has questioned whether any of these projects can now be presented as something new.

Two actions take centre stage

The videos screened during the event showed how the two proposed actions would look. One is the underground car park in Plaza Ginebra, in Sabinillas, and the other is the Corredor Verde that would link the Puerto de la Duquesa with El Castillo.

The presentation served to convey these proposals to the residents and visitors present, especially the foreign public.

The debate over the origin of the projects and their possible development is thus tied to the municipal political situation and to the actions that may finally take shape in the coming months, which will surely speed up as the next municipal elections approach.
