Manilva now has a Guardia Civil main station

-

According to a post on social media by Mario Jiménez, until recently the mayor of Manilva, the conversion of the town’s Guardia Civil barracks into a main station is finally becoming a reality, a long-standing and necessary demand that has been pressed for years.

Today the resolution on the creation of this Main Station, in line with the organisational needs of the Andalusia area, was published in the Boletín Oficial de la Guardia Civil no. 32, section II, page 8171. It follows a proposal by the Lieutenant General, Deputy Operational Director, and is in accordance with article 4.1 a of Royal Decree 734/2020 of 4 August, which develops the basic organisational structure of the Ministry of the Interior.

This resolution will come into force on 1 September.

Jiménez said he was very pleased to see this decision, which has been announced for some time, finally confirmed. However, as he himself acknowledges, administrative bureaucracy has delayed this good news until today.

All of this will mean an improvement in services for the people of Manilva, whose security is expected to be strengthened with the addition of one lieutenant, two sergeants, three corporals and twenty-six guards. It will also be possible to carry out various administrative procedures there without having to travel to neighbouring Estepona.
