In completely renovated premises, the new school year begins at the Manilva Music, Dance and Drama School.
Over the past few days, we have seen the work carried out at the school to have everything as well prepared as possible for the start of classes, although the official opening is planned for October, as the school’s director, Fernando Antiñolo, explained.
The school offers a wide and varied range of courses. In this regard, we remind readers that children aged 3 to 7 take part in the music and movement group, in any of the school’s three disciplines.
In addition, in music, there are vocal and instrumental specialities: violin, viola, cello, piano, guitar (classical, flamenco and electric), electric bass, flute, clarinet, oboe, saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, tuba, euphonium and drums, as well as singing and flamenco singing. There are also choir, chorus and concert band groups.
In dance, the disciplines are Spanish and flamenco and/or classical and contemporary. There are also workshops for adults in flamenco, rumbas and sevillanas, bulerías and castanets.
In drama, classes are organised by age into primary, secondary and adult groups.
Demand has grown considerably over time. There are approximately 450 students at the school and around 150 applications on the waiting list, which is growing day by day. Currently, classes are starting for those who had already enrolled.
The Culture councillor, Alba Jiménez, said she was very pleased with the work done by the teachers in getting this new school year under way. She also highlighted the spacious facilities that welcome all the students enrolled at the school.
