Manilva falls below 350 in active incidence rate

This afternoon the territorial committees for High-Impact Public Health Alerts of the eight Andalusian provinces will meet. As well as validating these figures, they will also discuss the possible lowering of the alert level for those municipalities that were at Level 4 and have seen a marked improvement.

A change to Alert Level 3 will not change the rules on movement between provinces or on opening hours, but it will change capacity limits, whether on the terraces of bars and restaurants, in sports facilities, at civil and religious ceremonies or in outdoor activities.

To this end, the Junta de Andalucía will have to look at several factors, including the incidence rate for the whole district, which must be below 250 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. The Costa del Sol Health District does not currently meet this requirement, standing at 293.2 today.

This change in the measures will particularly affect the hospitality sector, as bars and restaurants will be able to admit more customers on their terraces (from 75 to 100%) and indoors (from 30 to 50%). Shops will be able to operate at 60% of capacity with social distancing (at Level 4 it is 50%), while on public transport 100% of seats and 75% of standing places can be occupied.

The measures will be in force for seven days, from 00:00 this Friday until the night of next Thursday, 4 March.

The Regional Ministry of Health and Families, in collaboration with the Andalusian Institute of Statistics and Cartography, has published today’s figures for Thursday 25 February, with 5 new positives and 20 recoveries today. As a result, the number of active cases over the last 14 days falls to 56, and the active incidence rate over the last 14 days drops from 431.9 to 340.7 (cases per 100,000 inhabitants). The total number of confirmed cases in Manilva since the start of the pandemic now stands at 859 people and 15 deaths.

As for the cumulative incidence rate over the last 7 days, it rises, from 109.49 to 133.82 (positive cases per 100,000 inhabitants).

As of today, Thursday 25 February, the active cases over the last 14 days are:

* Manilva: 56 cases (15 fewer)
* Estepona: 247 cases (8 fewer)
* San Roque: 62 cases (3 more)
