From the Sports department run by Manolo Gil, work is already under way on organising the programme of sporting activities for the coming school year, which this year will expand its offer for the youngest children with the launch of the Cycling School, to be set up with the Club Ciclista Manilva.
This local sports club is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, having taken the name of Manilva across the whole country, and it wants to continue contributing to local sport with its knowledge and experience to launch the CCManilva Cycling Academy.
Yesterday afternoon, club members, staff from the Sports department and Manolo Gil himself were on site studying the different plots and areas where this new activity could take place in the best possible conditions for the practice of this sport.
The aim of this new sports school is for the youngest participants to discover other ways of having fun through cycling, as well as learning the basic concepts of the sport, which will teach its pupils coordination, balance, skill and even mechanics. It will also cover important aspects such as road safety, the importance of a healthy diet and social habits, such as teamwork and group discipline, which will be encouraged through games.
The school will have the involvement of the Sports department and will be led by a CCManilva member, Andrés Pareja, who has officiated as a judge for the Federación Murciana de Ciclismo and holds a coach qualification from the Real Federación Española de Ciclismo, as well as a cycling instructor qualification. He will be accompanied by other club instructors, with the aim of changing certain sedentary habits that are increasingly common among young people today.
This new activity will be aimed at children aged between 4 and 14, in classes split by age group, and registration is expected to open in mid-September, to coincide with the start of the school year.
The sky-blue club has already set up a form on its website to gauge interest and assess the different age groups, and to be able to inform all interested parties directly, at the following link: https://ccmanilva.com/en-septiembre-arrancara-la-escuela-de-ciclismo-de-manilva/
