Manilva Town Hall has announced this: although the work goes on every day of the year, Holy Week and the peak seasons in our municipality are taken into account.
The coordination between the Infrastructure and Works department and the Beautification, Parks and Gardens department is already bearing fruit. Marcos Ruiz and Pilar Zúñiga, who are directly responsible for these areas, have allocated significant resources to considerably improve local infrastructure, roundabouts, public buildings, and green and communal areas.
Most recent work carried out:
- Logistical set-up for Holy Week.
- Loreto area: new recycled streetlights installed and put into operation.
- Fishermen’s quarter: improvements to planters, repair and painting of items related to the fishing trade, and decoration with white pebbles.
- Roundabout at the entrance to Castillo: project to improve it and add lettering identifying the area.
- Seafront promenade: improvements to the landscaped area of the promenade, cleaning and reforestation with tamarisk.
- Calle Iglesia: repairs to the Rafael Esteban passage, where the statuettes of the musicians are located.
- Parks: painting work in all parks.
- Oases on the beaches: treatment for the Blissus pest.
- Puerto de la Duquesa: siting of new streetlights.
- Replacement of paving slabs, kerbs and cable inspection chambers throughout the municipality.
- Concrete laying to improve roads.
- Repair of various sections of the coastal path.
- Improvements to the road surface along Calle Iglesia.
- Repair of the façade of the Manilva health centre.
- New railings in the Calataraje area.
- Repair of the I LOVE SABINILLAS letters.
- New electrical cabinet in Puerto de la Duquesa to improve public lighting.
- Repair of the central reservation with new lattice screening on Avenida de España.
- Las Gaviotas / Los Flamencos area: replacement of damaged paving.
- Painting of a wall and planting of new plants in the planters in Plaza Pozo del Rey.
- Repair of cobblestones and relocation of plant pots on Calle Mar and Calle Cuartel.
- Repair of the main fountain, repair of cobblestones, painting of inspection chambers and improvements to the playground area in Plaza de la Vendimia.
- General work on planters, oases, roundabouts and main streets in the three population centres.
- Improvements to municipal facilities: work-experience students are helping to repair air conditioning units.
- Maintenance and improvements to sports facilities.
