The Beaches department has received a grant from the Mancomunidad de Municipios de la Costa del Sol Occidental through the investment plan of the supra-municipal body.
Within this allocation of more than 300,000 euros, the first investment will go towards installing a large children’s playground, which will be located between the playa de la Colonia and La Duquesa beaches.
The Beaches councillor, Eva Galindo, the representative on the Mancomunidad, Daniel Muñoz, councillor Marcos Ruiz, and technicians from the Mancomunidad and the contracted company visited the site to view the area chosen for the installation of this playground, which will bring more life to this part of our coastline.
Councillor Eva Galindo, who applied for this grant at the beginning of the year, has given more details about this first investment, as part of an allocation that also includes the purchase of a new tractor for beach cleaning work and the replacement of the deteriorated toilet cabins with 15 brand-new, certified ones, which will notably improve the coastal image of the municipality.
This new attraction, in the form of a 16-metre-long pirate ship, will be fully installed before the end of this year.
