Improvements to the sewage system at the entrance to Manilva

-

The Infrastructure and Works councillor at Manilva Town Hall, Diego José Jiménez, and Hidralia’s head of service in the town, Sergio Ruiz, accompanied by municipal technician Ernesto Vega and area director María de los Ángeles Ramos, have visited the entrance to the Estepona road.

Work is currently under way to replace more than 100 metres of sewage pipe, which had been providing a poor service to residents of the blocks on the right-hand side at the entrance to calle Doctor Álvarez Leiva and had caused repeated blockages. The existing pipe is being replaced with a 315 mm diameter PVC one, which will allow better drainage in the sewage system in this area.

As the councillor explained, the work is being carried out by the company Covico, a collaborator of Hidralia, the town’s water concessionaire, which has covered the cost of the work.

Jiménez said that residents had been complaining about this problem, which will finally be resolved shortly with the renewal of this pipe.
