We break down the official neighbourhood data for the election results held in our municipality on 28 May. There were 4 polling stations, Castillo de la Duquesa, Centro de Formación de Sabinillas, Polideportivo de Sabinillas «Edufy» and the Manilva multipurpose pavilion; 7 zones, spread across 12 polling tables, where the Partido Popular obtained the most votes at 7 of the 12 tables, followed by Compromiso, which won at 4 of the 12, and Izquierda Unida, which won at 1 table. PSOE and VOX did not win at any of the tables.
Analysing each of the zones or districts, we find that the Partido Popular won at all the tables in Castillo de la Duquesa, which cover the areas of Alcorrín, La Paloma, Chullera, El Castillo, Hidalgos, Goleto, Hacienda Guadalupe, Princesa Cristina and Puerto de la Duquesa, with 40.93% of the vote, followed by Compromiso with 21.29%, Izquierda Unida with 14.15%, PSOE with 13.05% and VOX with 8.52%. Turnout in this zone was 54.66% of the electoral roll, representing 713 people.
The area of Jardines de Sabinillas, Pueblo Mexicano, Maicandil, Don Amaro, El Duque… also opted for the Partido Popular at the two tables set up in the Centro de Formación, with 28.11% of the vote, followed by Compromiso with 25.56%, Izquierda Unida with 21.55%, PSOE with 17.24% and VOX with 6.66%. In this zone, 59.21% of those on the municipal register (padrón) for the area voted, representing 1,045 people.
In district 1, section 4, which covers the area of La Colonia, Sabinillas Sol, Miraflores, Ginebra, Barrio de Pescadores… Compromiso was the most-voted force at the only table in this section, with 28.24% of the vote, followed by Izquierda Unida with 26.39%, PSOE with 21.85%, PP with 17.48% and VOX with 4.54%. In this zone, 62.08% of those on the electoral roll voted, representing 586 voters.
The zone of La Noria, Duquesa de Arcos, Avenida de Andalucía, Marqués de Larios, El Tejarillo… gave its majority support to Izquierda Unida with 24.18% of the vote, followed by the PP with 23.69%, PSOE with 23.33%, Compromiso with 22.96% and VOX with 4.74%. Turnout in this zone was 58.45%, which translates to 814 people.
In section 1-2, covering calle Cruces, Pozo del Rey, Calle Cuartel, Jacinto Porro, calle Ocaña and surrounding streets, counted at table 1 2 U, the majority vote went to Compromiso with 34.78%, followed by Izquierda Unida with 30.99%, PSOE with 21.65% of the votes, compared with 9.61% for the Partido Popular and 2.97% for VOX. Turnout in this section was 83.39%, corresponding to 763 voters.
Compromiso took the main street of Manilva in Section 1 – 1 and at its two tables located in the Manilva Pavilion, which covered calle Mar, Monte Viñas, La Pedreta, Ctra de los baños and surrounding areas. Mario Jiménez’s party won 34.78% of the votes, followed by Izquierda Unida with 30.99%, PSOE with 21.65%, the Partido Popular with 9.61% and VOX with 2.97%. Turnout in this zone was 72.5%, corresponding to 1,297 people.
