Manilva Town Hall, through the Parks and Gardens department, has given the green light to the project for the future green lung that will connect the areas of Nueva Manilva and La Ocasión, and in turn, La Peñuela.
The mayor of Manilva, José Manuel Fernández, and the councillor responsible for the department, Agustín Vargas, held a meeting with municipal technical staff to finalise details of the project, which will have a budget of around €900,000 and will begin this year.
A green space for everyone to enjoy
The project involves creating a park of around 11,000 square metres, which will include:
- A car park with around 200 spaces and trees, located in the Llano Negro.
- Sports courts.
- Children’s play areas and outdoor fitness equipment.
- Gravel paths running through the wooded area and connecting with the La Ocasión track.
- A new road for vehicle traffic that will help relieve congestion in the centre of Manilva.
A new green lung for Manilva
This new green park will be an ideal space for leisure, sport and family time. It will also help improve air quality and create a more sustainable environment in the municipality.
