Geuma unblocks 45 homes held up since 2004

-

Manilva Town Hall, through its Urban Planning department and after almost two decades, has managed to unblock the project in the El Hacho area, which consists of two blocks of 45 homes that were never occupied because they lacked an occupancy licence.

Marcos Ruiz, Urban Planning councillor, explained that although construction was completed in 2004, the licence was not granted because the rock-armour retaining walls did not comply with regulations and the main entrance was located on a green zone.

After passing through several hands (developers), the GEUMA approved file 4030/2022, granting the planning licence to its current owner, Coliseum Real Estate, which has committed to remedying these irregularities through an investment of 610,414 euros.

Ruiz highlighted this particular case, which has finally been resolved, as in his words «it made no sense for this project to remain dead».

Another of the major projects the GEUMA is working on is the one envisaged in the Colonia Infantil Reform Plan, which aims to open the land up to the municipality and connect it with Puerto de la Duquesa, as well as providing car parks and green areas.
