24 April 2023 will be remembered as a historic day, as the first official visit to the Roman Site around the Castillo has taken place.
This privilege went to around 150 pupils in the 5th and 6th years of primary school at the San Luis de Sabinillas school, who enjoyed and learned on site during a guided visit with the expertise of Juan Emilio Ríos.
Also present at this encounter with the culture and educational heritage of our municipality were councillors Alba Jiménez and Daniel Muñoz, together with the project manager, José Carlos Castaño.
The councillors expressed their delight at showcasing this area and, above all, at our own students being the first to visit it. The pupils of Pablo Picaso and Maicandil will follow later this week, and the activity will also subsequently be proposed to Instituto Las Viñas.
The young students have been enriched by this experience, which reinforces what they have learned in the classroom. They were also able to see the Castillo monument, thanks to the guide’s explanations and the information panels set up at these locations.
Later on, through the local media, we will let you know how to request appointments in order to visit the Roman Site around the Castillo.
