Compromiso Manilva claimed a few days ago that the current mayor intends to put at risk the water supply of residents of Bahía de Las Rocas and La Paloma in order to benefit a thousand homes being built in the Invespania area, located in the neighbouring municipality of San Roque (Cádiz).
𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗿’𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲:
For his part, the mayor of the town, José Manuel Fernández, spoke on the matter, saying that this 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝘀 is a 𝗳𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗰𝘆, as the issue has at no point been put on the table. He also addressed the 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 of the westernmost part of the municipality to offer them a 𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, as there will be no shortage of water supply in their homes.
The mayor attached a report in which Hidralia states, in writing, that this matter has at no point been discussed with the water concession holder, and lists the points that were discussed at this meeting, which was also attended by Agustín Vargas, but at no point by representatives of Invespania.
In this way, Fernández makes it clear that the intention of the mayor of Manilva, and of the rest of the governing team, is in no way to endanger the water of the town’s residents, and that this is merely a 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 to try to downplay the good work being carried out in these first days of government.
The mayor regretted that, after only ten days in government, such hoaxes are being put out, and he called for a 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, above all with the public in mind, who do not deserve this kind of partisan attitude.
