Environmental officers from the Junta de Andalucía have responded immediately to a request from the Environment councillor, Noelia Muñoz, after being notified of worrying criminal acts affecting the natural surroundings of the La Peñuela area.
The reason for their intervention is a series of serious attacks on trees in this area, where evidence of drilling and poisoning of the trees has been found.
This deliberate act of vandalism, harmful to the environment, has been passed to the Nature Protection Service (Seprona) for a thorough investigation. The aim is not only to identify those responsible and put an end to these destructive actions, but also to apply the relevant penalties in accordance with current legislation.
The Environment councillor, Noelia Muñoz, has expressed her deep concern at these irresponsible acts that threaten the natural surroundings of the La Peñuela area. She stressed the importance of preserving and protecting our natural resources and said that all necessary measures will be taken to try to ensure that those responsible are held to account for their actions.
