This weekend in mid-August is marked on the calendar by the traditional popular run, the Corruco Race, which this year will see lower participation than in previous editions, with slightly fewer than 500 participants. The drop is presumably due to the increase in the registration fee, with the youngest runners having to pay more than double that of previous editions to cover a 400-metre route along calle Duquesa de Arcos. The fee was between €2 and €3 in the 2015 to 2019 editions, rising to €5 in the last two editions and €10 in this year’s edition.
On Friday we begin with the events of the Peña Flamenca de Manilva, with a live performance by «La Sal». On Saturday morning there will be a demonstration called «Gran Protesta Mundial por la Verdad» (Great World Protest for the Truth) on the Sabinillas seafront promenade, organised by the Venezuelan community, and on Sunday we can enjoy the 11th edition of the «Playas de Manilva» night trail.

XII Corruco Race popular run
Popular sporting event over 6 km from Duquesa de Arcos to the Los Granados area and back along the seafront promenade, passing the Castillo de la Duquesa, the Puerto and the inside of La Colonia Infantil. Children will have an alternative, shorter route along calle Duquesa de Arcos.
