The mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez, has made public the municipal cash count report, which shows funds of €6,428,117.05. This figure represents a notable decrease compared with the €7,781,976.38 found in the account in 2023.
Mayor Jiménez, in an exercise of «absolute transparency», has communicated this data to the public, highlighting the substantial difference between the two amounts. According to the mayor, the current cash count reflects a significantly smaller amount of money in the municipal coffers compared with the funds that his team left in 2023.
Jiménez has pointed out that this considerable spending has not been reflected in evident improvements to infrastructure or in the quality of municipal services. This information, besides being an exercise in total transparency and informing on the Town Hall’s current financial situation, raises questions among residents about where the outgoing funds went during the period between the two cash counts.
