The mayor, José Manuel Fernández, accompanied by the Festivals councillor of Manilva Town Hall, Rogelio Pascual, and the Finance councillor, Juan Carlos Morejón, held a press conference to clarify the dates of the various festivities organised by this department.
Rogelio announced and clarified the dates of the fairs and patron saint festivities:
- 15-16 July: Virgen del Carmen
- 22-26 July: Santa Ana
- 9-13 August: Feria Grande (the main fair)
- 14 August: Children’s Day
- 25-26 August: San Luis de Sabinillas
- 2-3 September: La Vendimia (the Grape Harvest)
For his part, Morejón said: «We have found a department with a serious lack of financial planning in its budget», and announced that at the end of this week or next, they will give more details on the state in which they have found other departments.
Morejón reassured residents, confirming that they will be able to enjoy the festivities that had been scheduled and for which work has been under way to secure funding, as they found a budget of €57,000 out of the almost €300,000 needed for the various festivities.
