Dog lovers in Manilva could soon have reason to celebrate. Today, a health inspector from the Junta de Andalucía, together with 4 councillors and the mayor of the town, made a crucial visit to the long-awaited dog beach, with the aim of issuing the final report that will allow this new public facility to be approved and opened.
The municipal delegation, led by mayor José Manuel Fernández, the Beaches councillor, Fina Gómez, and the Infrastructure and Works councillor Marcos Ruiz, accompanied the inspector, answering all the questions and providing all the details required to guarantee compliance with health regulations. Also present were the Environment councillor, Noelia Muñoz, as well as Gema Zotano, who was the driving force behind this project.
Following the inspection, and pending a few minor corrections that are considered normal in this type of process, the Town Hall is optimistic. The local authorities expect to receive the favourable report from the Junta de Andalucía shortly, which would allow the dog beach to be inaugurated and enjoyed by residents and their pets during the coming Holy Week.
