The results after 100% of the votes have been counted show Compromiso , led by Mario Jiménez, winning the municipal elections with a total of 1,613 votes, followed by the Partido Popular with 1,317 votes, Izquierda Unida with 1,307 votes, PSOE with 1,068 votes and VOX with 302 votes.
PSOE loses 303 votes in this election compared with the previous one, and Izquierda Unida’s electorate has fallen by 211 voters. The Partido Popular is the party whose electorate has grown the most, by 879 votes, and it led the results throughout the count, followed very closely by Compromiso, but the last two polling stations (which had the most postal votes) finally gave victory to Mario Jiménez’s party, Compromiso.
With these results there are several possibilities for forming a government, as no absolute majority has been obtained, and in the coming days the parties will have to seek alliances and pacts to form the governing team for the next 4 years.
The distribution of councillors is as follows:
- Compromiso: 5
- PP: 4
- Izquierda Unida: 4
- PSOE: 3
- VOX: 1
The following 5 government pacts could therefore be formed to obtain a majority:
- Compromiso + PP
- Compromiso + IU
- Compromiso + PSOE + VOX
- PP + IU + PSOE
- PP + IU + VOX
