The minority position of Manilva’s Municipal Government was once again evident at the extraordinary and urgent council meeting held on Wednesday.
The session was to debate a proposal to partially reject some objections submitted by Compromiso Manilva to a modification of the budget staffing structure, and to accept another of the objections put forward.
When it came to voting on the urgency of the council meeting, as required by regulations, there was no absolute majority, and the session could therefore not initially be held.
To avoid having to wait for a new convening, Compromiso Manilva once again showed foresight and exercised its role as a responsible opposition, voting in favour of urgency so that the council meeting could go ahead, speeding up the process and preventing the governing team from giving yet another example of the disastrous management we have become accustomed to.
Compromiso Manilva said that this morning it was once again clear that the municipal governing team at Manilva Town Hall is in a minority and cannot afford to lose a single vote in order to get its proposals through.
Compromiso Manilva also urges the Finance councillor to present the 2025 budget at a council meeting so that it does not have to be extended again, as is currently the case.
