The spokesman for Compromiso Manilva, Mario Jiménez, has expressed regret that the PP and the defector councillors from IU voted against the motion tabled by the Compromiso Municipal Group proposing a 95% reduction in the PLUSVALÍA tax (municipal land value increase tax) in cases of inheritance following the death of a family member.
The vote against by these two political groups meant the proposal was not approved. It was in fact rejected by the mayor’s casting vote, after the vote ended in a tie.
«It is a shame that the governing team made up of the PP and the IU defectors does not support a motion that would benefit many families in the municipality. They have voted against reducing the plusvalía tax in cases of inheritance or the death of a direct family member, and against applying the maximum possible reduction,» says Jiménez.
«Once again it is clear that Mr Fernández and his governing team continue to drift in the management of the municipality. They are incapable of voting in favour of such a sensitive issue as lowering this tax,» said Mario Jiménez.
Compromiso Manilva also calls on Mr Fernández and his governing team to «get to work, as it is high time. They have been in the Town Hall for almost 8 months and are not even able to bring proposals to the council meeting. The proof is that at this morning’s council meeting most of the motions were from Compromiso Manilva,» Jiménez concluded.
