Manilva Town Hall has announced that the comprehensive refurbishment of the Plaza de los Naranjos in Sabinillas will begin on 15 September. The date was not chosen by chance, as the summer period has been respected so as not to harm the business of the establishments located in the square.
The mayor, Mario Jiménez, accompanied by the councillor for Infrastructure and Works, Marcos Ruiz, a municipal technician and the businessman responsible for carrying out the project, visited the square to see first-hand how this central spot will be transformed.

Among the most notable improvements included in the project are:
- The creation of new infrastructure.
- The replacement of the current fountain with a ground-level one with water jets.
- The enlargement of the space by removing obstacles.
- The installation of shaded areas for the greater comfort of users.
- A complete renewal of the square’s decoration.
According to Town Hall forecasts, the work will be completed before the Christmas festivities, allowing residents and visitors to enjoy a renovated, more accessible and more functional square.
