The Beaches department of Manilva Town Hall, headed by Gema Zotano, announces that the period for applying to hire boats for holding moragas (beach barbecues) is now open, a deeply rooted tradition in the area that brings together many residents and visitors every summer.
From 15 May 2025, interested people can attend the Beaches department office in person, located at the Monumento de El Castillo de la Duquesa, between 10:00 and 13:00. Proof of identity must be presented.
The booking process is organised by fortnight. For example, from 15 to 31 May it will be possible to book for use in the first half of June; from 1 to 15 June, for the second half of June, and so on until 30 September. Permitted hours of use are from 20:00 to 01:00.
It should be noted that the applicant will be solely responsible for the use of the boat, undertaking to avoid disturbances of public order, nuisance to neighbours, damage to property or littering, and must leave the area in the same condition in which it was found.
The municipality currently has four boats available for this service, located in the areas of La Noria, Colonia and Los Granados. For more information or to resolve any queries, the Beaches department has set up the following contact telephone numbers: 619 71 65 80 and 619 72 86 72.
