This morning, the town’s mayor, José Manuel Fernández, met with the councillors for Beaches, Gema Zotano, and the Environment, Noelia Muñoz, to take the first steps towards meeting a long-standing demand from residents.
The project focuses on reaching a consensus on the location of a designated dog beach in the municipality, an initiative that was already included in the election manifestos of the current members of the governing team, from both the Partido Popular and Izquierda Unida.
From this point, the necessary steps will be taken to obtain the required permits, as well as to prepare the area, guarantee suitable access and develop the essential infrastructure for the project.
Municipal technicians have proposed several potential locations, which will be assessed for compliance with current regulations. A final decision on setting up this space for pets will then be taken, once all the necessary permits have been obtained.
This is a first but crucial step that will help meet the growing demand from animal-loving residents in our town.
