8th Urban Planning, Territory and Environment Conference in Manilva

-

A delegation from the new corporation of Manilva Town Hall, headed by mayor José Manuel Fernández, visited the headquarters of the Fundación General de la Universidad de Málaga (FGUMA) at the PTA last Friday. In a meeting with Diego Vera, director of the FGUMA, both parties expressed their interest in continuing the fruitful relationship begun years ago and in holding the 8th Urban Planning, Territory and Environment Conference on 20 October, as part of the project «UMA en la provincia». The event will bring together professionals from the sector to analyse the Ley de Impulso para la Sostenibilidad Territorial de Andalucía (Andalusian Law to Promote Territorial Sustainability) and its Regulations, and will offer an overall assessment of Andalusia’s new territorial and urban planning model, as well as its connection with the principles and values that must be protected.

Alongside Fernández, those taking part were the Social Affairs councillor, Gema Zotano, the manager Aitor Menoyo, and Ildefonso Narváez, municipal solicitor at Manilva Town Hall and coordinator of the conference together with Esther Rando, lecturer in Administrative Law at the UMA.

The event is free of charge, has always been well attended and can be followed in person or by streaming.

Manilva was one of the first municipalities to join the «UMA en la provincia» programme, which is now held in more than ten locations across the province of Málaga, taking knowledge and debate beyond university lecture halls. The initiative highlights the importance of unity and collaboration between different institutions, always for the benefit of promoting culture and the continuing education of society.
