5th consecutive day without new COVID positives

Today, Tuesday 21 September, the active incidence figures in the town continue to improve, on what is already the fifth consecutive day without any new Covid cases being reported in the municipality. The figures are very encouraging, but Manilva still has the second-highest active incidence on the Costa del Sol, exceeded only by Marbella.

The Regional Ministry of Health and Families, in collaboration with the Institute of Statistics and Cartography of Andalusia, has published today’s figures for Tuesday 21 September, with no new cases reported and 3 recoveries. As a result, the number of active cases over the last 14 days falls to 18 people, bringing the active incidence down from 127.7 to 109.5 (cases per 100,000 inhabitants).

The total number of confirmed cases in Manilva since the start of the pandemic stands at 1,508 people, with 22 deaths.

The cumulative incidence over the last 7 days falls to 18.2 (positive cases per 100,000 inhabitants).

We remind readers that until this Friday 24 September, residents of our town and of Casares who were born in 2009 or earlier, that is, who are aged 12 or over, can go to the Sabinillas Health Centre to receive the Pfizer or Moderna Covid-19 vaccine, without an appointment.

The hours throughout the week are from 8:30 to 12:00.
It should be noted that young people aged 16 or over can attend and consent to vaccination on their own, although it is advisable to go accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, while those aged 12 to 15 must always be accompanied by at least one parent or legal guardian.

This newsroom has produced a graph showing the total positive cases since the start of the pandemic, the details of the last 14 days and recoveries, which we update from Monday to Friday and have included in our «Coronavirus Special.»
