Today’s council meeting was held, covering a number of items, among them the problem found in the Vehicle Fleet department.
A total of 31 municipal vehicles have an expired MOT, many of them with unrepaired damage, along with the purchase of a lorry that was subject to a seizure order and the payment of insurance on 5 vehicles that had already been taken off the road but for which the insurance was still being paid.
This was revealed by Noelia Muñoz, the current councillor for this department, who said she had found the vehicle fleet to be «a disaster». Muñoz added that more than half of these vehicles are leased, so the cost of repairs and MOT tests would not be an expense for the municipal coffers.
